We’re excited to share a more personal feature from our CEO, Lindsay Telles, who was recently included in AZ Big Media’s article, “14 Ways to Get Teenagers Excited to Participate in Summer Family Activities.”
This one steps outside the usual world of performance marketing and business leadership. Lindsay shared what she has learned at home as a mother of five, including four teenagers: sometimes the best way to get teens involved is simply to apply less pressure and give them more ownership.
In the article, Lindsay explains that the more she pushed an activity, the more resistance she got. Things changed when she started asking what her teenagers wanted to do, staying flexible on the details, and letting them help shape the plan.
She also found that loosening the definition of “family time” helped. Letting a friend come along could turn an outing from something that felt obligatory into something her teenagers were genuinely excited to join.
It’s a simple perspective, but one that feels familiar well beyond parenting: people respond differently when they have a voice in the outcome.
We’re grateful to AZ Big Media for including Lindsay and giving readers a glimpse into the personal experiences that shape her perspective beyond the office.
